What will we do?
We will source and set up a work placement for your son/daughter relative to interests and skill set. We will also identify solutions to issues such as travel, specialist clothing, training etc. It is our aim to make the work placement run as smoothly as possible.
We will deliver recognised qualifications including ASDAN’s Certificate of Personal Effectiveness at Level 1 or 2 (equivalent to a GCSE) and the British Safety Council’s Health and Safety Award at Level 1. These will be delivered at school or via one to one teaching and learning.
What can you expect from us?
We will liaise with you every step of the way. We will keep you informed of all progress and any issues that need to be resolved. We will listen to your concerns and act in proactive manner at all times.
We will give you a weekly timetable so you know when your child is on placement and when in school. You will be assigned a dedicated Changing Education member of staff whom you can readily contact. You will also receive weekly progress reports on your son or daughter so you know how they are getting on.
How can you help?
If you would like us to contact a particular employer on your behalf for a work placement opportunity we will be happy to pursue this for you. In addition if you already know of a local employer who can offer work experience, we would like to hear from you.
What we expect from you?
We want to work with you and expect to have your full support. We aim to communicate effectively at all times and we would like the same from you. If there is something that we are not doing, then please tell us.
We will be operating in a mentoring capacity over the course of the programme. We will look at additional support as and when required and offer as much support and guidance as is necessary to ensure your sons/daughters success and future career development.
