This course covers the legal requirements and best practice recommendations for a safe and healthy workplace. The qualification aims to provide you with a basic knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace, including the duties of employers and employees under UK Health & Safety legislation.
Assessment is via a 40-question multiple-choice examination.
The aim of the WorkSkills qualification is to enable learners to develop the skills needed in any workplace, build confidence and gain an internationally recognised BTEC qualification. The course unit topics are: searching for a job, applying for a job and preparing for an interview. Once you have completed these 3 units you will be awarded a BTEC Award in WorkSkills, the Level 1 Award in WorkSkills aims to provide progression to the Level 2 / Level 3 Certificate.
Assessment is in the form of coursework which you will complete during class time.
The Money and Finance Skills qualification will provide you with the practical skills to manage your personal finances effectively in later life. The course provides a broad range of skills and will, amongst other things, enable you to experience first hand how to manage debt, budget with fixed earnings and explore ethical investment.

The AoPE (Award of Personal Effectiveness) level 1 course involves taking responsibility for planning organising and carrying out a number of activities and challenges. Emphasis throughout is on your use of key skills; Working with Others, Improving Own Learning, Problem Solving, Research, Discussion and Oral Presentation and encouraging you to become independent learners.
Assessment is based on a portfolio of evidence which is externally moderated.
