NEET
Avoidance Programme
Not every learner thrives on the same path. The NEET Avoidance Programme (NAP) offers structured, supported placements for students at risk of disengagement, giving them earlier access to meaningful work experiences that grow confidence, connection, and a sense of purpose.
What is the NEET Avoidance Programme?
Giving the right students the right kind of opportunity
The NEET Avoidance Programme (NAP) is a structured, work-based learning model designed to re-engage students who are struggling to thrive in a traditional classroom setting. Aimed at learners who are at risk of becoming NEET, or who may already be attending or referred from a PRU, NAP provides meaningful, extended work placements for one or two days per week across the academic year, giving learners routine, relevance, and renewed purpose.
This is not just about giving students something to do. It’s about helping them find purpose, routine, and a pathway they can believe in. By spending regular time in a real working environment, students develop confidence, build key life skills, and gain a better sense of what they want from their future.
Who is it for?
NAP is designed for students who:
- Are at risk of disengagement, exclusion or becoming NEET
- Struggle to thrive in a traditional classroom environment
- Have been referred to, or are currently attending, a PRU
- Need routine, structure, and a sense of purpose
- Would benefit from real-world experiences to help them reconnect with learning
Why It Works
We’ve seen firsthand how powerful the right placement can be for the right student, one of our very own employees began their journey through this programme. NAP placements are carefully selected to be meaningful, consistent, and structured, giving students the stability and real-world relevance they need to grow in maturity, improve behaviour, and rediscover the value of learning.
Some students just need a different kind of challenge, and this programme gives them that chance.
