Kevin Rodgers – pledges to Inspire Future Leaders

Our aim at Changing Education is to #inspirefutureleaders; by giving students a real insight into the various industries and paths they could follow and to open their eyes and imagination to the potential job opportunities which are available.

We are continuing to showcase some fantastic individuals who have given us true insight into their profession and the journey they have taken to get to where they are today.

In today’s industry insight interview video, hosted by our very own Amos Madra, we hear from the inspiring Kevin Rodgers who is a partner at Wilson Browne Solicitors.

Alongside being a partner in Wilson Browne Solicitors’ commercial and litigation team, Kevin is also chairman of the board of management and leads their commercial business unit, with responsibility for the overall supervision of the commercial team’s work.

Kevin acts for several industry sectors, including logistics, print, construction, and milling. A skilled negotiator, he can advise on the most appropriate route to resolving disputes – whether by informal negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or the court process.

A past (2016) NLS Solicitor of the Year, Kevin is also the current President of the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber represents approximately one-third of the country’s workforce and provides support, representation, and advice to approximately 1000 local businesses. Kevin gives his time freely to the Chamber and is a strong supporter of local business and all that the Chamber stands for.

Kevin has lots of advice and knowledge to share with anyone hoping to pursue a career in law.

Kevin believes that “you don’t need to decide your life right now, you have time” which is an important statement to digest and take on board. He also asks, “do you really know what a lawyer does and try and explore it” and “not to worry about what kind of lawyer you want to be, get an idea of the board and different types available”, which may seem obvious but an important question to think about before you decide if you want to enter this profession.
